WE ARE VERA

We’re here to care for you while you’re in our studio and then ensure you know how to take good care of your skin at home every day.

As a team of practitioners specializing in custom skin treatments, nutrition, and sugaring, our approach to care is highly personalized, effective, and informed by decades of experience and daily continuing education.

For our custom VERA facials, we prioritize massage techniques and modalities over high-tech machines and invasive procedures. The result from our kind of face care is clear, age-resistant, and healthy-looking skin.

YOLANDA PORRATA

Owner and Master Aesthetician

Raised as a ranger’s daughter in the wilds of West Marin, Yolanda has a generous and loving spirit that can fill a room. It serves as the foundation for how she operates VERA. She’s also tenacious, thorough, and laser-focused when caring for her clients’ skin and brows. When she was young, her mother made her study piano when all she wanted to do was dance. Little did she know she was training her hands for face massage.

After 13 years in skin care, Yoli is an expert in her field. She serves as the lead educator, and aesthetician for In Fiore and trains aestheticians at CAP beauty in NYC, Shibui Spa at the Greenwich Hotel NYC, and Shou Sugi Ban House Hamptons.

As the resident aesthetician at The Assembly SF, she provides brow tinting and tweezing and her signature Face Sculpt. She also runs brow pop ups at Be in Good Company, and, in the past, has worked at top spas in San Francisco: International Orange and Spa Radiance.

LINDSAY ELLIOTT RICH

Master Aesthetician

Lindsay is nurturing, intuitive, and passionate in her approach to skin care. She grounds her method in eastern medicine, working holistically to understand her client’s needs v. simply addressing symptoms.

After her first decade as a licensed aesthetician working with conventional formulations and machines, a world of holistically-centered treatments came rushing into view. Using touch-based therapies such as Gua Sha, manual lymphatic drainage, and fascia release she supports immediate and progressive results in her clients’ complexion, nervous system balance, posture, and pain.

Lindsay trains licensed therapists in advanced massage techniques, consults for non-toxic skincare companies including Beauty Heroes, True Botanicals, and Bare Hands, and guest teaches at the San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology (SFIEC) on skin histology and physiology.

Daisy Silva

Miel Sugaring

Daisy Silva became an aesthetician to support people feeling comfortable and safe in their bodies. She wants you to feel empowered to remove hair from your body and to know that your choice doesn’t have to cause you irritation or harm. Daisy serves as a strong advocate for sugaring because, unlike waxing, sugar doesn’t stick to live cells and cause damage to your skin. Her approach to hair removal is both protective and nourishing to skin, and she sees hair removal as complementary to your regular skincare routine v. something that counters your efforts. She is motivated by her belief that everyone deserves to have healthy skin and to choose the level of hair removal that feels right for them.

As a certified sugarist for five years, she is continuously learning and perfecting her craft. She prides herself on making people feel comfortable and heard and providing a nurturing level of care.

Tegan Sinclair

Nutrition Consultant and Aesthetician

Tegan’s journey to become a Nutrition Consultant was born out of her passion for healing skin disorders, which is really a passion for finding whole-body synergy and wellness. She quickly came to understand that her own decade-long battle with acne was a sign of her body working for her. It was sounding the alarms and detoxing a larger problem at hand. She was (and continues to be) humbled by the resilient vessel that she inhabits, which is always communicating to her with such urgency and drama.

Informed by her nutrition background, Tegan’s approach to skin care is 80% internal and 20% topical. As she sees it, skin problems of any kind arise from environmental factors (i.e. toxins, sun damage, poor nutrition, etc.), and skin care is your damage control. Tegan offers both in-depth nutrition consultation and facials here at VERA.
